[Paleontology • 2009] Sinotyrannus kazuoensis • First large basal proceratosaurid theropod from the Early Cretaceous Jehol Biota in northeastern China



Sinotyrannus is a genus of proceratosaurid tyrannosauroid. Despite being not much younger than Dilong, another basal tyrannosaur, Sinotyrannus was very large in size (10 m), closer to that of Tyrannosaurus than Dilong
Sinotyrannus is known from a single incomplete fossil specimen including a partial skull, from the Early Cretaceous Jiufotang Formation (app.120 million years ago) of Liaoning, China.
